Welcome to Hikinglite.com

Paulie (Pablito) Campbell
Welcome to my website. I have thought about a website for many years, and here is
my first stab at it. In this site, I provide information about my passions, so I guess also
about myself. I try not to duplicate too much information that can be found elsewhere
online.
I first developed this site before leaving New York for Guatemala to study Spanish in
2006. There are lots of schools there; but, for me the best was Sakribal in
Quetzaltenango. Sakribal had the best teaching staff of any school I attended and
Quetzaltenango (Xela) was much less touristy than Antigua, the other big language
school city. For those looking for a more rustic setting to study, San Pedro la Laguna
on beautiful Lago de Atitlan is another option. Since Tz'utuhil is the primary language
of the community, with Spanish being a second language for most people, your
exposure to Spanish will be less than in Xela. I spent most of two years in Guatemala
and Mexico with trips to Costa Rica and Argentina. I now live in Florida.
For 2010, I'm planning a short trip to Mexico, before continuing the second half of my
long delayed road trip through the United States. I should be on the road from July thru
November, and will be expanding my cycling section during and after my trip.
Feel free to contact me with any comments.
